This Muscadet is a brilliant example of Melon de Bourgogne from the Loire’s cooler Atlantic-influenced region; fresh, textural and full of personality. Bernard and Benoît Landron’s Melon B. shows how the variety can shine when treated with respect and care.

Why you'll love me

If you enjoy crisp white wines with structure, brightness and terroir-driven character rather than heavy oak or overt fruit, this one is for you. It carries that fresh citrus/stone fruit signature but underpinned by a minerality and saline edge that lifts it beyond simple “summer white.” Perfect for seafood and also as a wine that rewards attention. The combination of organic farming, minimal intervention and old vines makes it more than just a refreshment; it’s a wine with place and purpose.

Location: Muscadet-Coteaux de la Loire, Loire Valley, France
Winemaking / Farming Techniques: 100% Melon de Bourgogne grape. The Landron family are certified organic and farm low-yielding old vines (40-80 yrs) on schist/granite soils. Fermented with native yeasts; aged approximately 6 months (or more) on fine lees in stainless or concrete tanks with minimal sulphur and light to no filtration.
Style / Body: Light-bodied, crisp and textural; a refreshing white wine with elegant minerality and saline drive.
Notes: Fresh pear, green apple and subtle honeydew melon aromas lead. On the palate you'll detect citrus zest (lemon/lime), white-flesh stone fruit, wet-stone minerality and a hint of saline/oyster-shell finish. The lees contact adds a subtle cream or bread-crust texture.
Descriptors: Pear · Green apple · Honeydew melon · Lemon zest · Wet stone · Oyster shell · Saline lift · Light texture · Fine acidity
Pairing Suggestions: Beautiful with oysters, mussels, steamed clams, or fresh seafood. Also pairs nicely with light shellfish pastas, steamed white fish with herb butter, or as a crisp aperitif.
