Deep and rich, this Shiraz has juicy black plum, a hint of spice, and a touch of liquorice. Full-bodied but smooth, with gentle tannins that give it structure without being intimidating. Made from old vines in McLaren Vale, it’s the kind of wine you can sip with friends, a roast dinner, or even just on its own.

Why you'll love me

Vibrant and expressive, this Shiraz is packed with dark berry fruits, subtle spice, and a touch of earthy complexity. Smooth yet structured, it’s a modern take on a classic Aussie Shiraz; rich enough to satisfy, but balanced for easy drinking.

Location: Omensetter Vineyard, McLaren Vale, South Australia; organically farmed, planted in 1997 on red clay over limestone soils
Winemaking / Farming techniques: Hand-harvested and wild-fermented with approximately 20–25% whole-bunch fruit. Extended skin contact for around 3 weeks in open fermenters, followed by basket pressing and maturation in French hogsheads (about 15% new oak) for 20 months. Bottled with minimal intervention
Style / Body: Full-bodied and structured, with layered complexity, balanced by a refreshing undercurrent of maritime energy
Notes: Brooding and aromatic; plush black plums, blood orange zest, and savoury chorizo, wrapped in spicy paprika, nutmeg, licorice, and echoes of nori and violet. The palate is generous, vibrant, and well-balanced, finishing with integrated tannins and a long, spice-laced, earthy finish
Descriptors: Black plum, blood orange zest, chorizo, nori, violet, paprika, nutmeg, licorice, earthy, layered, balanced, long finish.
Pairing suggestions: Great with grilled lamb, smoked meats, rich bolognese, aged cheddar, or fragrant barbecued fare. Decanting will help unveil its deeper layers.
