Etnella 2019 Kaos 5.0 Rosso is a beautifully balanced Etna Rosso crafted from Nerello Mascalese on volcanic slopes. It channels the site’s minerality and vitality with elegant red fruit and fine structural detail. Nerello Mascalese on Etna is prized for its lithe frame, bright acidity and smoky, stony nuance; traits that this wine exemplifies with clarity. The 2019 vintage spent extended time in neutral oak to build texture and nuance, while preserving energy and purity of fruit, giving the wine not just weight but finesse and persistence.

Why you'll love me

If you love reds that are expressive yet poised, Kaos 5.0 Rosso delivers: vivid fruit, complex savoury layers and etched mineral tension. It’s elegant enough for thoughtful sipping and structured enough for food; especially dishes with herb, tomato and smoke, while capturing the unique volcanic character Etna does so well.

Location: Etna Rosso, Sicily, Italy
Winemaking / Farming techniques: Hand-harvested Nerello Mascalese. Fermented on skins with indigenous yeasts, often with whole-berry inclusion and gentle extraction to preserve finesse. Aged for extended time (18–24+ months) in large neutral oak casks and older barrels, unfined, unfiltered with minimal sulphur; traditional Etna philosophy with a modern touch.
Style / Body: Light-to-medium bodied red with striking energy and refined structure.
Notes: Bright red cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate seed on the nose, with hints of orange rind, rose petal and fine volcanic earth. On the palate there’s crisp red fruit, crushed herbs, subtle tarry spice, graphite-like minerality and soft, finely polished tannins leading to a long, lingering finish.
Descriptors: Red cherry · Strawberry · Pomegranate seed · Orange zest · Rose petal · Volcanic earth · Herbaceous spice · Fine tannins · Mineral lift · Long finish
Pairing Suggestions: Classic Italian dishes like tomato-based pasta or pizza, herb-roasted chicken, grilled pork, mushroom risotto, roasted peppers and aubergine, or aged pecorino and charcuterie.
