This one’s a standout example of boutique Burgundian-inspired Pinot from the Six J’s block. Sourced from a single, carefully chosen vine cluster (“G Clone”), it shows just how much nuance can come from a small parcel. Brian’s touch is light but intentional, letting the fruit and site speak clearly. It’s the kind of Pinot you savour; layered, expressive, and deeply satisfying.

Location: Steels Creek, Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia
Winemaking / Farming Techniques: Grapes are harvested from the Six J’s Vineyard. The wine uses the MV6 “G‑Clone” selection, picked and hand‑destemmed with 12 days on skins. Fermentation occurs with twice‑daily plunging, followed by pressing to French oak puncheons and hogsheads (20% new) for malolactic conversion. After maturing, it is vegan‑fined, lightly filtered, and bottled under a screw‑cap.
Style/Body: Light to medium‑bodied, polished and elegant, balancing fruit intensity with structural finesse.
Notes: Presents a lively profile of ripe strawberry, cranberry, rhubarb, and subtle cherry cola. Savoury herbs, dried thyme, rosemary florals, with soft leather and a hint of spice add depth. There’s an underlying mineral tension and mid‑palate freshness.
Descriptors: Strawberry, cranberry, rhubarb, cherry cola, dried herbs (thyme, rosemary), leather, spice, mineral tension, fine tannins.
Pairing Suggestions: Delicious with charcuterie, mushroom risotto, roasted duck breast, or lightly grilled salmon. Excellent with earthy dishes and fare that complements its herbal and fruit-driven character.
